Cabo Verde’s Women’s National Basketball Team is set to play in the Qualifiers for Afrobasket 2021 in Guinea-Conakry on June 26th & 27th.
Cabo Verde is to face Guinea. The two nations will do battle for the only ticket on offer for the continent’s Zone 2 teams for the Final Round of the biennial tournament to be held in Yaounde, Cameroon in September.
The two-game series will take place in Conakry, Guinea on June 26 & 27.
Due to the pandemic and the consequences that took on the CV economy, the Federation is in need of funds for travel, equipment and accessories for all the players and staff. If they win they will play in Afrobasket 2021 in Yaoundé, Cameroon Sept 17-26.
Anything you can donate will help. Donations of $50 and more you will receive apparel. Fundraiser timeline: 20 May 2021 – 30 Sept 2021.

FCBB Men’s National Team will travel to Tunisia for the AfroBasket Tournament

PRESS RELEASE
The Cape Verdean Basketball Federation (FCBB) hereby announces that the National Senior Male Team will travel, on February 14, to Monastir, Tunisia, where it will play, from the 18th to the 21st of this month, the games of the second phase of group E of the qualification for AfroBasket 2021.
It is recalled that group E consists of the National Teams of Egypt, Morocco and Uganda, and the first game will be played on Thursday 18, against Morocco, at 09H00, the second game, against Egypt, also at 09H00 and on Saturday, the 20th, and against Uganda, on Sunday, at 12H00, all hours in Cape Verde. It should be noted that it has not yet been confirmed by FIBA Africa whether the games can be watched via livestream on the FIBA Youtube page.
The players called up by the Coach / Coach Emanuel Trovoada are: Ailton Marques, Amarilson Lopes, Anderson Correia, Fidel Mendonça, Hugo Silva, Jeff Xavier, Joel Almeida, Kenneti Mendes, Keven Gomes, Patrick Abreu, Patrick Lima, Shane da Rosa and Will Tavares.
FCBB has an institutional partner, the Sports and Youth Institute, the official sponsor, CVMultimédia, and the Municipality of Tarrafal, DECO, Garantia, Cabeólcia, Teixeira Duarte, CAVIBEL and EMPROFAC.
