Clayton Moreno Timas continues to be a leader and role model both on the court and off the court. At an annual Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast at the Bristol Community College Fall River Campus, Clayton was honored as the 2018 Distinguished African American Alumnus of the Year. Clayton has long since been a positive figure in New Bedford since helping other students who were still learning English as a youth in school to now still remaining a positive influence on highschoolers he coaches for AAU basketball on and off the court.
Clayton played for the Cabo Verde national basketball team in 2012, but unfortunately ruptured both Achilles in the same year. But Clayton long since returned to basketball and now plays in the Associação Caboverdeano de Basqetebol (ACVB) and he’s leading the league in multiple categories.
