There is a sense of urgency among some teams going into the post season playoffs. Teams like Predio, Bairro, and Volcanic are still battling for better seeding, and none want to finish last. The last place team will play Campana Lança in the first round. Campana remains undefeated at 8-0. The final regular season game will be crucial for these three teams. Bairro and Predio are tied at 2-6 and Volcanic is 1-7. Bairro and Volcanic will play on Sunday and Predio will play Campana. ABC is one game ahead of Lenfer and they will play their last game on Sunday. Since ABC beat Lenfer by 1 point their first match up, Lenfer needs to win this game by 1+ points to finish second place. The second-place team will match up with the #5 place team.

Lenfer was shorthanded this week and the team had a rematch game against the league’s best team, Campana Lança. Lenfer came with a game plan to limit the league’s best shooter, Anthony Vicente from scoring, and they limited him to 16-pts. Vicente scored 44 the first match up, something that Lenfer did not want to happen again. Despite battling hard most of the game, Campana became victorious in this game defeating Lenfer 85-75. Lerne Depina of Lenfer played his best game scoring season high 28-pts, 7-asst and 4-rebs despite playing with a dislocated shoulder. Depina was Brockton High School phenom, best shooting guard in high school averaging 19.5. Tino Brazao also finished the game with 28-pts and 5-rebs.
ABC could not stop Chris Owden of Volcanic. Owden scored season high 30-pts, 7-11 from the perimeter. He is the only true scorer on his team. ABC being a well-rounded team had great ball movement and shared the ball Everyone contributed to the game. Carlos Gomes had a season high 16 points and 9 rebounds. Joao Paulo Silva came alive finally scoring double digits points this game. He scored his season high 10-pts, even though his team has higher expectations for him. ABC defeated Predio 62-57.

Bairro bounced back this week beating Predio 57-50 with the help from Tony Barros scoring 21-pts. Predio played better this week. Predio signed a prominent big man, 6’8, Tchow Amado and another ball handler, Meldon Barros.
